The Ashbourne Partnership is now a charitable trust. Through its members the partnership provide grants and support to a wide range of community groups, organisations and charities, encouraging partnership working on specific projects and identifying how everyone may benefit from working together.

The Ashbourne Heritage project was born out of an earlier initiative by the Ashbourne Partnership to make the intriguing history of the Town more readily available to both visitors and local people alike. The creation of an illustrative town map, installation of heritage display panels and the establishment of volunteer town guides meant a large amount of historic data was accumulated and a way needed to make this easily accessible to all.
With the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund, the District and County Councils and the Local Heritage Society the pioneering use of QR codes was developed to make information readily available whilst actually standing outside a building. The associated website is backed by a wealth of information which seeks to bring the stories behind the buildings, people and events together and meet a wide range of needs from the casual visitor, curious about who lived where, to the period historian researching the development of one of the finest Georgian streets in the country -
